This is "canis suus testis", inspired by reflections on the Jackal's cylinders,

and painted September 2007 over a few days' sick leave. I really was ill, but you can decide whether I'm sick.

The Jackal is a 1064cc V twin, which operates the archaic system of two pushrods & two valves in each cylinder to power the crank,

through a dry clutch (like a car), 5 speed gearbox to a shaft-driven rear wheel.

patch with moto guzzi emblem, surround text reads "it's hard to be humble with a shaft like mine"

painting: a female alien rides an airborne wheel-less guzzi above a shocked japanese bike rider.

I painted this a couple of decades ago when I had my 1st Guzzi, a V50. Some things don't change...

drawing by 7 year old Eva, "Shhh" -her plan to steal the Jackal. The Eagle emblem is airborne

Eva's plan to steal the Jackal

Cal's pictorial plan to steal the Jackal "Let's ride!" has an inset of the shed with my shout "Ah -where did the bike go?"

Cal's turn...

Pip's drawing from the front shows her smiling at lean angle.

Pip too...
